How it all began…
SnoworSand got started when a group of friends studying in Perugia, Italy decided to plan a ski
trip to the Italian Alps. They got some wheels, rented a chalet in the mountains on the border
of Switzerland, and took off for a weekend of skiing and Alpine relaxation. The trip was a huge
hit, so they decided to plan another weekend adventure, this time to a small island off the
western coast of Italy. After rallying another group of friends and spending a weekend scuba
diving and soaking up the sun, they decided there was no choice but to transform their style
of travel into a new kind of travel company focused on adventure, culture, and off-the-beaten-
path experiences.
Even though SnoworSand’s changed a lot since 2005, we’ve stayed true to our roots. You’ll always travel in small groups with groups of 12 or fewer. We feel this is necessary for genuine off-the-cuff-travel cultural experiences you’d expect from independent travel. You’ll get a nice blend of culture, adventure, relaxation and free time, and you’re always accompanied by a young local guide who treats you like she would treat her best friends.
